Hostility and Assaults on Jim Young

The barrage and violent intensity of attacks on Jim Young just for informing homeowners about the board's ongoing abuses is disgraceful, to say the least. It's one thing to disagree, but violence? Seems the board and their followers have a propensity for spreading hate and resorting to violence.

The unchecked attitudes, anger, and displaced morals of these cult-like board followers have escalated over the years into multiple violent assaults on Jim Young. At least two of these incidents are especially troubling and reveal just how far the board and their followers have devolved into an organized thug-style, neighborhood street gang.

During a board meeting in December 2023, Ed Booker (above photo) approached Jim Young from behind while he was seated at a table, grabbed Jim by the back of his neck, and said, "You're an asshole, you know that." Jim, who is trained in Martial Arts, immediately broke Booker's grip with a sweeping motion of his left arm as he stood and turned to face Booker, finishing with a down-sweep of his arm to push Booker's arm further away and neutralize the attack and prevent any further attacks by Booker. More disturbing is that Jim never met or knew of Ed Booker before this incident.

After the assault, Ed Booker left the clubhouse and fled the scene while Jim Young was calling the police. When officers arrived, Booker's wife was still at the clubhouse and was instructed to call her husband and have him return immediately. During the investigation, police learned that the clubhouse had a video camera that recorded the event. However, the then board president, Jean Legrys, refused to cooperate with the police investigation, insisting the police obtain a Search Warrant for the video. Jean was not willing to surrender the video when asked.

It was also discovered that Jean is close friends with Ed Booker and his wife, Arnelle. It appeared that Jean was willing to obstruct the police investigation to protect a friend. But this wasn't the first time she refused to cooperate with authorities to protect a friend who assaulted Jim Young.

These horrendous incidents clearly show how deep, widespread, and to what extent this mini-mob group will go with their abuses and control of our community. This is sickening to a normal society, but these people would make John Gotti proud. The people of Coco Wood Lakes deserve much better. We have to get these people off the board.

An Earlier Assault on Jim Young

This assault took place on March 21, 2023. This is another incident where the then board president, Jean Legrys and every loyalist board follower were at the meeting, including Mike Dorman, and refused to provide the identity of the man who walked up to Jim Young and swung at Jim fiercely, striking Jim's arm out of pure anger. This man was obviously one of their friends and a loyal board supporter. The mere fact that these people protect each other even when a crime of assault is committed presents a very scary impression as to what lengths the board will go to maintain control of the community while being guilty of protecting a criminal who assaulted someone. Their loyalty to friends is paramount over justice.

Below are two frames from a video of the actual attack on Jim Young. The first image is blurry due to the movements of the attacker while striking Jim. The second frame shows a clear image of the attacker as he walked away.
